about Melinda…

With 19 years in the auto industry, Melinda celebrated her 11^th year with us as our Fleet Business Administrator. When she first started out at this position 11 years ago, our most senior Fleet salesman Mike Moran gave her the nickname Missy, and it has stuck around ever since! All the guys in our fleet department call her Mom, and we don’t know what they would do without her.

What is your position at McCurley Dealerships?

As Fleet Business Administrator, Missy takes care of all the office and sales related paperwork, puts together the deals for accounting, booking and filing.  And most importantly, keeps the fleet guys in check! 

What is your favorite part about your job?

Meeting customers, interacting with them and getting to know them on a personal level. Since there are many repeat customers, they all get to know her well and she enjoys this part of her job more than anything.  

What are some of your hobbies?

Missy enjoys quilting, a hobby she picked up from a long time customer who recently passed away last year. She loves spoiling her grandchildren and being a Grandmother to Angelyka, 14, Braden, 7 and Alissa, 3.

about dean…

How long have you worked at McCurley Dealerships?

Dean has been with this company from the very beginning, 31 years this month! 

Cheers to this terrific accomplishment!

He started at the parts counter in 1981 and became Parts Manager in 1985.

He has held the position ever since!

What is your position at McCurley Dealerships?

Dean is the General Parts Manager for McCurley Dealerships.

Dean also manages all the IT vendors for the company, adding to his busy days and even weekends.  

What is your favorite part about your job?

Dean’s likes working with the wholesale customers because of the opportunity to build relationships with them. He enjoys getting to know them on a more personal level.

What are some of your hobbies?

Dean is an avid hunter, fisherman, and downhill snow skier.

He loves the slopes at White Pass during those cold winter weekends!

Tell us something unique about you that we would never have guessed!

Every year during the first two weeks of January, Dean takes a well deserved vacation to Cabo,

a trip he looks forward to all year.

 So far this month with the help of our customers we have raised over $12,000 for our local Make-A-Wish Foundation. 

Our GOAL is to raise enough to grant the wishes of

What: Corvettes on the Columbia Event

Event starts at 5:30pm on Friday where all the Corvettes will arrive and then caravan over to Terra Blanca Winery for a reception. 

On Saturday, June 2nd, all day festivities will take place. 

Entertainment includes comedy by Brian Upton and a musical performance by the "Groove City Band" 

at the Clover Island Inn.

Teaming Up for a Great Cause!

Throughout the month of May, all of our stores will be donating a percentage of all sales to our local chapter of the 

Make-A-Wish Foundation. 

Our goal is to grant 5 wishes to local families here in the Tri-Cities.

In addition, we will be hosting our annual Corvettes on the Columbia event which will take place Saturday June 2nd. 

Events will take place throughout the day including a comedy performance from Brian Upton and a concert with the

31st Anniversary Sale a record breaking sales event

WOW! What a great event we had for our 31st Anniversary! 

We had over 1000 new and used vehicles down at Columbia Park last week to celebrate our 31st Anniversary. We had some great weather, met wonderful customers and had a blast! 

We also sold a record number of cars at our offsite event. 

Because of our great customers who joined us for the event, 

we sold 234 units in 6 days! 

As part of a thank you to our great and loyal customers, we offered many prizes with no purchase necessary. 

The grand prize was a Phillips 55" TV!

A Message from Bill: The History of Two Stores, Matt and Marcos

Today we celebrate the 24 year anniversary of Matt Kramer, a Mercedes Technition, and Marcos Franco, a dynamite salesman who have been dedicated and invaluable members of our organization! 


Bill McCurley himself would like to share with you the story of how these two all stars came to work for our company.

A tale to tell of Matt and Marcos

It was 24 years ago today, March 21, 1988,  that a much younger McCurley made a deal to purchase Columbia Motors Mercedes Benz and Subaru.  Columbia Motors was located in the building that is now Desert Buick GMC.  After our purchase, we built the showroom that is now used for Cadillac and moved Mercedes Benz and Subaru to the Autoplex.  In 1988 we had not yet purchased the store across the street (now Subaru Mazda).  That came later, in 1993.  It was then Shumate Pontiac, Cadillac, Mazda.  Some years later we moved Cadillac and Pontiac to dual with Chevrolet and moved Subaru to the former Pontiac Cadillac showroom.

Although I was very interested in acquiring the Subaru and Mercedes franchise, what I really wanted were the two young stars that worked there, Marcos Franco and Matt Kramer.  Since they wouldn't quit and go to work for me, I had to buy the store!

And that is the rest of the story.
